About The Event
The average life expectancy for men is 54.7, and the average life expectancy for women is 55.7. Nigeria's life expectancy is ranked 178th in the World. Hypertension is also running rampant in Nigeria. Nearly 1 in 2 adults suffer from hypertension and it's complications. For more information on Nigeria's health disparities, click here.
During this mission trip we will be visiting remote areas in Lagos, Nigeria.
Our activities will include: Screening and treatment for high blood pressure, diabetes, malaria, worm infestation, treatment for malnutrition, administering children's multi vitamins, children's skin infections, cardiovascular diseases, cholesterol screening, basic eye exams + distribution of eye glasses, women's health issues: STI treatment, cervical cancer screening, prenatal care, distribution of prenatal vitamins. Feeding the poor, preaching the gospel & more.
Please note-up to date TDAP vaccination and malaria prophylaxis required to travel to Nigeria and travel guard insurance is necessary . Participants must print, sign and notarize the "Emergency Release and disclaimer form" and complete our online registration and waiver.
The approximate cost of this mission is $2000; this will included airfare, accommodations, on ground transportation. If you are not a Nigerian citizen, you will need to get a Nigerian Visa, they are approximately $300 and take two weeks to process.
